Have you heard of bidets? Do you have the impression it's just for rich people? Or that you will have wet pants after you use one? Well honey, that is absolutely not the case.

#1 Cleaner
Yes. It's less gross. I know I sound like a 5 year old instead of a late twenty-something adult, but popping SOMETHING up in your cracks is gross. Period. I know that toilet paper is supposed to be safe and clean, of course it is. But I often find little bits and pieces of toilet paper hiding in my abysses where I had no idea it could even go. Dead serious. Toilet paper can be pretty nasty.
#2 Better on the environment
While some toilet paper is made of recycled materials, and this is better, most is not. Even when compared to recycled toilet paper, a bidet is still less impact on the environment as a whole. According to brightly.eco, switching to a bidet can save up to 384 trees which would be cut down in YOUR lifetime to make your toilet paper. Don't believe me? Check out their article here.
Not to mention it's rough for septic workers. On the chance there is a problem in the sewage line, toilet paper can build up. I remember hearing a horror story about a clog caused by like, a toy train in the sewage system and these poor workers had to wade through mountains of shit-soaked toilet paper. Disgusting.
#2 Gentler
Did you know that using toilet paper can cause micro tears on your sensitive bits, which can lead to easier infection? It's true. Because we are physically wiping, if we wipe too hard, too much or if the paper is just a little too coarse, it can aggravate the skin and cause teeny little micro tears.
This means you can get red, puffy and sore in your junk. Which. Um. Sucks.
#3 Saves Money
After investing in a bidet, you can spend less money on excreting your waste than you had before! Toilet paper can cost up to $107 a year for the average American household (according to Statista here) and some bidet's cost as little as $40. You do the math.
^ (This one is only $40!)
I say switch to bidet.
Will you make the switch? If you use toilet paper what brand do you recommend for the least irritation?
Just used a bidet for the first time at my daughter's house. Loved it! Thinking about purchasing...
