If you're like me, then ADHD can get in the way of some pretty important stuff. I'm talking super important stuff, like even personal hygiene. Even brushing my teeth can be a tough case to crack. Here are some of my favorite items in the bathroom that improve my lifestyle as an ADHD-possessing human.
#1 - This Wall-Mounted Toothbrush Holder
Look at this. Look at this genius. ADHD can cause me to forget any item that is not in easy view. In other words, if my toothbrush or floss is hidden in a drawer, I will forget to brush my teeth because I forget that toothbrushes exist. The moment I got this item, I loved it completely.
Not only was it easy to install (and renter-friendly!), but the moment I put it up I had the urge to brush my teeth. Seriously. My dental hygiene has improved by probably 50%. No kidding.
#2 - Waterpik
This goes with what I said about the mounted toothbrush holder. I will forget to brush or floss if I cannot see my tools immediately. Not only that, but due to many years of poor dental hygiene my dentist warned me that gingivitis was IMMINENT.
So, terrified, I got a waterpik to help get all the hard-to-reach places in my mouth and gums. Somehow that string floss sometimes seems really REALLY hard to use, even when I see it on my counter. For those days and the days when my dentist's advice actually does ring in my head, I reach for my waterpik.
#3 - An Over-the-Toilet Shelf
Listen hun. I said it once, I'll say it forty million more times. If you have ADHD, you NEED STUFF IN PLAIN VIEW.
Hence, this shelf! Especially in my bathroom, which has very little storage space anyway (I'm in a small rental) having extra places to put my necessities is ESSENTIAL.
Not only that but having my cleaning supplies clearly labeled in a bin on this shelf helps me remember exactly where it is. Helps me see my labeled "Cleaning Supplies" and want to clean. It's shocking, really. Highly recommend.
#4 - Drawer Organizers
I know that I've been emphasizing the importance of storing things where I can see them. Because of my ADHD. And this is true, but sometimes I really do have to store things in my bathroom drawers otherwise everything I ever own would be littered across my countertops.
So, for those items that I just HAVE to store in a drawer, I use organizers!
These ones are simple, beautiful, and allow me to see what is stored inside from any angle- so even if I used them on a shelf, I could see what I'm storing. That's so important for my ADHD brain so I don't forget what I have!
Not only that, but these come with rubber "feet" (lol I know) that you can stick on the bottom of the bins so they don't shift and slide. Can you say ideal??
So, those are my favs.
What are your favorite items? If you also struggle with ADHD, do these types of items help you? If not, what do you recommend?
