In the aftermath of Valentine's day, I think it's worth mentioning the importance of self-care. I don't care whether you're with someone(s) or not-- loving yourself should always be priority #1.
With that in mind, here's what I consider key self-care items to remind yourself you're loved.
#1 Salt Baths

Nobody talks about salt baths enough. Or hell, baths enough period. I used to only take showers like a freaking idiot and honestly up until recently, I couldn't remember taking a bath before I was crawling.
Okay real talk though, bath salts also take this up a notch. I would just always make sure that the scent is something relaxing for you. One of my old roommates would make migraines at the scent of lavender, so that was a major no-go for her even though lavender is supposed to be ultra relaxing.
For me, it's eucalyptus.
(Speaking of eucalyptus, if you like it's smell get a fresh sprig and hang it upside down under your showerhead. Yes, I know this is all over TikTok and everywhere but it is for a reason. If you insist on showers do this. You will not be sorry.)
I love to relax in a bath and I mean RELAAAAAAAAAAAAAX. If your tub is a basic rental, you might want a bathtub pillow so you aren't constantly shifting and crying. This is a highly rated one!
#2 Ice roller

You may have heard, but supposedly ice is super good for locking in your skincare routine. This can apply to ice masks, but I like to roll with ice whenever I need it-- not just when I've finished with my moisturizer.
If you're like me and your blood vessels are constantly on fire with rosacea, then this is especially for you. My poor skin needs cooling a LOT.
Now I just pop this GENTLY on my skin whenever I need to calm the heck down or at least when my skin does, and it's honestly a game-changer.
#3 Eye Balm

Literally my favorite. I know not everyone cares about their eyes as far as skincare or self-care goes. But if you smile with your eyes (like I do), I think it's expressing love for that part of you. I like to take care of my cute eyes because I smile with them constantly, and it's one of my favorite things about myself.
Anyway, I can't express how nice eye care is. Especially for someone as tense and scattered as I am, lol! This one is on-the-go and it's cooling too, which for me (again) is super important.
I recognize a lot of this is about spa day type of stuff, which really isn't how everyone expressing their self-care. But that's how I express it on special occasions like post-Valentine's, so that's what we're talking about. If you have other methods of self-care, let me know! I'd love to cover other methods too.
